Toronto Wedding Photography | Backyard Wedding | Julie + Richie

Julie + Richie are two awesome people.

I had the pleasure to meet them a few years ago while they were a part of a family portrait session. That entire day was non-stop fun so I knew we were going to be in for a treat when they asked me to photograph their wedding day. A little bit north of Toronto, they had a lovely intimate backyard ceremony that featured beautiful details from gorgeous hand written signs, and stunning lace accents over Julie's feet (she walked barefoot down the aisle). After the ceremony we headed over to a local park for some Wedding Party photos, and then to a nearby community centre where the party truly kicked off (including yours truly being ambushed by the guests for a fun dancing session!). Just last month I had the pleasure of seeing Julie + Richie again, this time as guests at their friend's wedding. It was great to see their smiles and to reflect on the amazing time everyone had on their wedding day.

I've been really horrendous with keeping this part of the site up to date lately, but the peak season is now over. I have some amazing photographs and stories to share on what an incredible year it as been. Now with some more time, I'll be sure to be posting more often so keep your eyes peeled!

Wow! It's been an extremely cold week in Toronto. And like most people, when the cold air hits your face, you mutter a couple of swearwords to yourself and you start to daydream about the upcoming summer season, and picturing life on a beach or a patio. But stay around out there for a few minutes longer, and you begin to notice the great beauty that the winter season can bring.

A perfect example of winter beauty, was Valentina + Denis' civil ceremony last year, in Mississauga. I first met Val + Denis while photographing their friend's wedding. Both of them were Maid of Honour/Best Man (I wish I could take credit for starting a little chemistry between them, but they were already an engaged). While they opted to have a destination wedding in the Caribbean, they still wanted to have a civil ceremony here in Toronto.

That morning was one of the biggest snowfalls of the year! Driving across the city, I felt like a lead character in Walking Dead driving across a empty highway. But, as empty as the roads were, all of Val + Denis' friends and family made it out to celebrate their special day.  After the lovely ceremony and some family formals, I was able to convince the two of them to just step outside real quick as it was a perfect mix of the right amount and size of snow. Thankfully, being the good sports they are, they agreed, and I couldn't be happier with the results!

Toronto Wedding Photography | Peter + Joanne | Engagement

Hockey season begins tonight, and like most people from Toronto, I'm a Maple Leafs fan (although at the end of every season, I tend to ask myself why). I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to feature Joanne + Peter's Maple Leaf-themed engagement session from earlier this year.
Joanne + Peter are good friends of mine, and when they first got engaged they mentioned that they both wanted to do something fun that really showed who they are. So when they told me they rented some ice and wanted to do photos in their jerseys, I was thrilled.

As a special bonus, once we headed out of the rink, we happened across a local carnival just around the corner. A quick ride on the scrambler, some whack-a-mole, and cotton candy made for the perfect ending to a fantastic day.

Joanne+Peter's big wedding day is happening next week and I just want to wish them an early congrats and I'm looking forward to having a great time!
